How to Host a Star Wars Trivia Night
A great set of questions is only half the battle. Here’s how to run a trivia night that feels like a May the 4th event.
Pick Your Format
- In-person: Host at home, in a community room, or at a local bar. Full decorating potential.
- Virtual: Use Zoom, Discord, or Kahoot so remote friends can join.
- Hybrid: Mix in-person teams with video-calling remote teams on a TV.
Set a Date and Time
The obvious choice is May 4th — “May the Fourth Be With You” — but a movie-release anniversary works too. Plan for a 2–3 hour run time, including breaks.
Teams or Individuals
Teams of 3–5 players work best. Encourage pun-heavy team names like Sith Happens, Cantina Crawl Crew, Jabba the Hotties, Order 66oz, or The Bantha Poodoo Brigade.
Scoring & Rules
- 1 point per correct answer; 2 points for hard/expert questions.
- No phones, no Googling — appoint a scorekeeper.
